About the Founder
Donald R. Dixson
Donald R. Dixson brings together a rare combination of creativity, business acumen, and human insight. His professional journey began at The Chicago Academy of Fine Art, where he trained in Commercial Art before launching a career that would span advertising, marketing, and organizational consulting.
Don started his career in advertising agencies across Chicago before joining the Advertising and Marketing Department at International Harvester. He later worked with one of the world’s largest manufacturers of electro-magnetic relays in Princeton, Indiana, where he gained a deeper understanding of corporate communication and brand strategy.
After several successful years in the corporate world, Don transitioned into entrepreneurship, offering consulting services to both large and small organizations. His work focused on improving management performance, communication, and employee development. He became a member of the prestigious Bill Redden Management Development and Training Programs, where he deepened his expertise in leadership psychology and workforce behavior.
In the 1970s, Don founded Admark, Inc., an advertising and marketing agency in Evansville, Indiana. Through Admark, he collaborated with businesses to build marketing strategies, enhance brand identity, and manage advertising campaigns. It was during this period that Don began working closely with psychologists specializing in corporate staffing and the science of Applied Psychology. This collaboration sparked his lifelong interest in understanding and improving the human side of business, an interest that ultimately shaped the foundation of SomaHire.
